LOGISTICS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:Our client is looking for a Logistics Manager, with International / Global supply chain experience.    Export and Import experience, as well as confidence of setting up / working with 3PL / 4PL’s is essential.  As part of a planned growth phase, our client is expanding their global presence and now require an experienced Logistic Manager to come in and establish the Logistics Manager’s role, identify opportunities for improvements to already existing 3PL / 4PL agreements, and to further expand the organisations supply chain network, globally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LOGISTICS MANAGER: 
  • Take ownership of the selection, onboarding and management of 3PL and 4PL partners globally.
  • Review and improve on processes relating to stock in transit, shortages, plan and deliver stock levels at both UK and remote depots all whilst improving service levels, and to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Administer depot transfers and replenishments (Sales orders, picking slips, dangerous goods notes, import / export, commercial invoices etc)
  • Ensure constant availability of stock and other business critical consumables
  • Source and negotiate contracts for new supplies globally as well take a lead on the selection and onboarding of 3PL and 4PL partners
  • Identify opportunities to improve upon efficiencies within the distribution network
  • Manage stock in transit, ensuring 100% OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery performance.
  • Optimise distribution network, balancing total cost of delivering from manufacturer direct to customer
  • Balance distribution costs across manufacturing and depot networks while supporting customers directly, with agile logistics arrangements
  • Truck and container tracking and contingency planning
  • Oversee the full end to end logistics process from scheduling deliveries, depot transfers, load planning, liaising with port agents through to successful delivery to customer
  • Managing DGN and hazardous freight and any challenges as they arise
  • Regular supplier and product data management
  • Overseeing monthly / quarterly 3PL stock checks
 KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE LOGISTICS MANAGER ROLE:  
  •  A strong background in supply chain management / logistics, ideally within complex, multi-site environments
  • Proven experience with 3PL/4PL partner management.
  • Solid understanding of import/export and global freight processes.
  • Strategic mindset with attention to operational detail.
  • Commercially astute with a customer focused approach and the ability to quickly build lasting relationships both internally, and externally with third parties
  • Results-orientated with a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to achieving high professional standards.
  • Resilient and adaptable with the ability to be agile in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • A self-starter, able to organise self and others to achieve shared goals.
