Our client based in Port talbot are recruiting for a Quality Engineer. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in the manufacturing of metal engineered products, focusing on supporting and enhancing supplier quality performance through robust data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work confidently within ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, and ISO45001:2018 management systems and conduct both internal and vendor audits.
- Utilise Lean methodologies, manage supplier scorecards, and lead supplier audit activities to ensure compliance.
- Issue and follow up on audit reports to ensure closure and implementation of improvements.
- Monitor supplier performance indicators to develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed expectations.
- Develop positive relationships with sourcing leaders to manage and track supplier/engineering, design changes, and transfers.
- Lead the resolution of supplier component concerns, drive quality planning processes, and support supplier component development and approval.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to define process parameters ensuring supplier process capability meets product and process requirements.
- Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as supplier defect rate, quality plan effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure.
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering/manufacturing related discipline.
- Proficient in employing quality tools and methodologies such as JIT, APQP, PPAP, 8D, Pareto charts, and statistical data analysis.
- Experienced auditor of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, and ISO45001:2018 management systems, preferably as a Lead Auditor.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Six Sigma black belt is highly desirable.
