Production Team Leader
Salary: 31,471 per annum (includes shift allowance)
Holiday: 33 days (25 + 8 bank holidays)
Hours: Full-time, rotating shifts Monday to Friday:
Morning: 6am - 2pm
Afternoon: 2pm - 10pm
Occasional night shift cover may be required
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, proactive Production Team Leader to join our growing manufacturing team. You'll be leading from the front-making sure health & safety standards are met, quality stays high, and your team is engaged, trained, and working efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for someone with production experience who enjoys coaching others, driving improvement, and making a real impact on day-to-day operations.
What You'll Be Doing
Health & Safety Leadership
Take full ownership of H&S across your area
Ensure teams are working safely, using correct PPE, and following site procedures
Keep risk assessments and SOPs up-to-date and user-friendly
Investigate any incidents and provide reports within 24 hours
Quality & Compliance
Champion a "right first time" mindset
Maintain strict food safety and quality standards
Oversee product sampling and sign-off procedures
Ensure clear, accurate documentation and audit readiness
Support with non-conformance and CAPA investigations
Manage line clearance in line with SOP372
Team Development
Coach and support team members to grow their skills
Identify training needs-for your team and yourself
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
Continuous Improvement
Work with your team to deliver measurable improvements
Analyse key trends weekly with the Shift Manager and act on findings
Reduce changeover times by 20% and boost productivity by 10%
Operational Excellence
Lead by example-set up, run and clean down machines correctly
Manage performance to maximise output and minimise downtime
Uphold 5S standards (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain)
Communication
Keep clear, accurate shift reports (H&S, performance, quality issues, etc.)
Provide thorough handovers between shifts to keep things running smoothly
Flag material shortages promptly and communicate clearly
Run daily team briefings to keep everyone aligned
What We're Looking For
Previous experience leading a team in a production or manufacturing environment
Food or pharmaceutical industry background (desirable)
Familiarity with Clean Room protocols (a bonus but not essential)
A confident communicator and team motivator
A focus on continuous improvement and doing things the right way
