  • TomanageacaseloadofstrategicplanningapplicationsdeliveringsignificantlevelsofinvestmentwithintheBoroughandmakerecommendationstoPlanningCommittee.

  • SupporttheefficientmanagementoftheannualworkloadoftheDevelopmentManagementteams,currentlycomprisingApproximately5,000planningapplicationsperannum,Approximately100appeals

Responsibilities
  • InstructionofPlanningSolicitorsonenforcementandrelatedmatters.
  • DealingwithgeneralenquiriesfromelectedMembers,prospectivedevelopersandmembersofthepublic,onalldevelopmentmanagementandrelatedmatters.
  • LiaisonwithandsupportforthePolicySectioninthepreparation,monitoringandreviewoftheLocalDevelopmentFramework.
  • LiaisonwiththeCouncilsLandscapeGroupinthepreparationofTreePreservationOrdersandcasesconcerningthefelling,loppingortoppingoftreesundertheprovisionsoftheTownandCountryPlanningAct1990andassociatedlegislation.
  • Represent,asrequired,theDevelopmentManagementServiceatmeetingswithotherServices,GroupsandCouncilDepartments,governmentdepartments,statutorybodies,developers,communityandothergroups,andthegeneralpublic.
  • Thedutieslistedabovearenotexhaustiveandmayvaryincludingrequirementstoundertakeotherreasonabledutiesconsistentwiththegradeandlevelofpost.
