We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Night Nurse (RGN or RMN) to join our team at a purpose-built care home in Portsmouth. Specialising in Elderly, Dementia, and General Nursing care, our home is renowned for its exceptional standards and compassionate approach. Responsibilities
As a Senior Night Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the night shift team to ensure the delivery of exceptional care.
- Administering medications and managing clinical procedures in line with best practices.
- Monitoring and assessing resident's health and well-being, ensuring care plans are followed and updated as needed.
- Providing guidance and support to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards, including infection control and safeguarding protocols.
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid NMC pin and Registered Nurse qualification (RGN or RMN).
- Strong knowledge of up-to-date clinical practices and procedures.
- Experience in infection control, moving and handling, wound care, and drug administration.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A compassionate and professional approach to care delivery.
Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the care and safety of residents during night shifts.
- Conducting regular checks on residents and responding promptly to any changes in their condition.
- Supervising and mentoring the night care team to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Completing accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with care plans.
- Liaising with families and external health care professionals as required.
