You’ll play a key part in designing and implementing advanced marine electrical systems, working on technologies ranging from electrified powertrain solutions to next-generation energy-efficient propulsion systems.
Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:
- Contribute to the design and implementation of marine electrical systems, including electrified powertrain solutions and other sustainable vessel technologies
- Support the development of vessel electrical installation strategies, collaborating with customers, shipyards, vessel manufacturers, and internal teams.
- Produce accurate schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and panel layouts using professional electrical CAD tools.
- Design and route electrical harnesses for industrial and leisure marine applications, ensuring compliance with system architecture and standards.
- Assist in specifying and selecting electrical components, including HV DC distribution equipment, sensors, and marine/automotive-grade hardware.
- Support the integration of high-voltage DC (HVDC) mobile powertrain systems, contributing to layout, safety, and performance considerations.
- Contribute to technical documentation and testing procedures for Factory, Harbour, and Sea Trial Acceptance Tests (FAT, HAT, SAT).
- Assist in resolving technical issues during installation, commissioning, and operational phases, both on-site and remotely.
Electrical Design Engineer – The Person:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s level advantageous).
- Experience in automotive or high-voltage powertrain electrical systems is highly beneficial; junior candidates with a strong foundation and a desire to develop in these areas are encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in electrical CAD tools — EPlan Electric P8 preferred, though experience with structured alternatives is acceptable i.e. Siemens Capital or Zuken
- Understanding of relevant engineering standards (IEC, ISO, NFPA, etc.); experienced candidates will apply these confidently, while junior engineers should show eagerness to develop this knowledge.
