Finance Manager

Our client is a fast-growing family-owned business based in the Portsmouth area and is a leading provider of facilities equipment and smart home products. They are looking to recruit a Finance Manager who is responsible for key financial activity and will manage a team of 8 staff. The Finance Manager reports to the Managing Director. Our client is growing through exceptional growth, has a strong management team and this role will help support that vision of growth.
Main Duties
- Responsible for overseeing end-to-end finance operations including account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the Finance function
- Manage budgets and prepare forecasting reports
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
- Manage an end-to-end audit process of current systems while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors
- Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
- Deal with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
- Monitor the cash flow of the company to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet cash flow needs.
- Production of monthly Management accounts
- Responsible for all tax queries including VAT submissions
- Supervision and performance management of the Accounts Payable and Credit Control teams
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of communications and resolution of issues
Skills and Knowledge
- 5 years plus experience in management accounting
- Accounts qualifications advantageous however work experience will be taken into consideration
- Previous finance management experience
- Strong data analysis skill
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Strong commercial and business awareness, in order to apply decisions that support sales and other functions
- Excellent communication skills
- Experienced with using Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel
- Team player with good working relationships, strong team management and leadership qualities.
