Our client is a growing engineering company with a wide range of customers within the UK and Europe who are innovative, efficient, and excel in service, is seeking a proactive and hands-on Finance Manager to support continued growth and financial health of the business.

You will take full ownership of the company's financial operations. that will involve everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to strategic financial planning.

As part of the leadership team, you'll work closely with other departments to provide robust financial insight and ensure financial systems and processes support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with team leaders and project managers
  • Using SAGE, manage and Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Generate and issue timely, accurate client invoices; monitor billing cycles and manage queries
  • Carry out bookkeeping duties, ensuring the general ledger and financial records are accurate and up to date
  • Monitor debtor and creditor balances, ensuring effective credit control and supplier management
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure data consistency between accounting and MRP systems, supporting cost tracking and inventory accuracy
  • Produce monthly management accounts and bespoke management information reports to aid decision-making
  • Support business case development, including cost-to-compete analysis and financial modelling for tenders or projects
  • Ensure all financial and tax reporting requirements are met, including VAT returns, PAYE, and HMRC submissions
  • Assist with year-end processes, liaising with external accountants/auditors where necessary

Qualifications & Experience

  • ATT qualified or equivalent (e.g. AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Proficient in accounting software Sage
  • Familiarity with or exposure to MRP systems in a manufacturing or engineering
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping, invoicing, credit control, and reporting functions
  • Strong Excel skills and confident working with data exports, reconciliations, and pivot tables
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communicator, comfortable working with colleagues across departments

Hours

  • Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 16.45pm & Friday 8.30am - 15.30pm

Salary, Hours & Reward
