Project Engagement Lead
As the Project Engagement Lead, you'll be at the heart of connecting communities with our work. Supported by the project team, you'll coordinate and attend public liaison events, engaging with local groups on environmental and construction-related matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Represent the project at quarterly Stakeholder Advisory Group meetings, taking actions and reporting back to the internal team.
- Attend weekly and monthly progress meetings, identifying opportunities for communication and publicity.
- Keep the project team informed about ongoing communications and engagement activities.
- Flag potential risks in the project risk register and raise concerns about scheduling with the wider team.
- Oversee content creation for the project's website and social media, ensuring engaging and informative updates.
- Craft award submissions and industry press articles that highlight the project's impact and achievements.
- Provide the client with clear, professional communications summaries and respond to public queries.
- Ensure the Stakeholder & Community Engagement Plan remains up to date and effectively followed.
- Work closely with the client's Communications team to promote project successes.
- Organize and facilitate third-party visits to the site, including those from statutory authorities.
- Manage and mentor the Project Engagement Officer, supporting STEM engagement and school visits.
- Assist in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including charity and community projects.
Essential skills & experience:
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
- Confident in engaging professionally with the public, including managing conflict.
- Strong content creation abilities for newsletters and social media.
- Experience in a community-based and/or public-facing role, ideally in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Canva desirable).
Additional requirements:
- Full driving licence (essential).
- CSCS card (desirable).
- GCSE Maths & English (degree in a relevant subject preferred).
