Senior Architect
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: 45-55,000 (depending on experience)

An established and highly regarded architectural practice in Portsmouth is seeking a Senior Architect to join its expanding team. Known for its innovative, sustainable, and client-focused approach, the studio has delivered an impressive body of work spanning commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious architect to take on a senior role, lead significant schemes, and contribute to the future direction of a progressive, design-led practice.

Key Requirements:

  • ARB-registered Architect with extensive post-qualification experience in the UK

  • Strong design ability paired with excellent technical knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (essential)

  • Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, planning frameworks, and RIBA work stages

  • Demonstrable experience leading projects from concept through to delivery, ideally in education, healthcare, or commercial sectors

  • Confident communicator with leadership qualities and mentoring experience

  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple live projects, budgets, and deadlines

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Based in or able to commute easily to Portsmouth



Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through all phases, maintaining both design quality and technical accuracy

  • Provide leadership within the studio, offering guidance and support to junior colleagues

  • Act as a key liaison for clients, contractors, and consultants, fostering strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle

  • Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that reflect the studio's ethos

  • Ensure all work aligns with planning policies, building regulations, and industry best practice

  • Contribute to the practice's growth by supporting business development and shaping its ongoing direction
