Overview:
I am currently supporting a leading Defence and Aerospace company who are actively looking for a Maintenance and Automation Engineer to join the team at their Portsmouth site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair production tooling and jigs.
Develop and optimise NC programs for CNC drilling (CAWDE).
Diagnose and resolve industrial equipment faults.
Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Liaise with external suppliers for tooling repair and upgrades.
Essential Skills & Experience
HNC or 10+ years in Tooling, Jig Design, or Production Maintenance.
NC programming and Catia V5 experience.
Knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens NC systems.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Desirable
Experience with CMM, Laser Tracker, Spatial Analyzer.
Knowledge of hydraulics, PLCs, robotics, and automation.
Familiar with PFMEA, PPS, and software change management.
Additive manufacturing and mechanical engineering background.
