Naval Architect - Portsmouth Naval Base - £45,000Flexible & hybrid working options available

Are you ready to shape the future of naval engineering and support the Royal Navy's surface fleet? My client is looking for a talented Naval Architect to join their expert team based at Portsmouth Naval Base. This is your opportunity to contribute to high-impact maritime projects and be part of a skilled engineering team with a strong reputation for innovation and technical excellence.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing structural analysis using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and theoretical methods
  • Conducting ship stability assessments with Paramarine software
  • Supporting inclining experiments on naval vessels and conducting post-analysis evaluations
  • Designing ship modifications and capability upgrades
  • Carrying out drydock technical assessments and contributing to ship maintenance planning
  • Consulting on naval base infrastructure requiring naval architecture expertise
  • Involvement across the full ship lifecycle-from concept design to in-service support for naval platforms

What we're looking for:

  • Degree-qualified (MEng) in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or Ship Science (essential)
  • Experience with ANSYS Workbench FEA tools (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Paramarine or similar naval architecture software (desirable)
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor (desirable)
