My client is looking for a talented Naval Architect to join their expert team based at Portsmouth Naval Base. What you'll be doing:
- Performing structural analysis using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and theoretical methods
- Conducting ship stability assessments with Paramarine software
- Supporting inclining experiments on naval vessels and conducting post-analysis evaluations
- Designing ship modifications and capability upgrades
- Carrying out drydock technical assessments and contributing to ship maintenance planning
- Consulting on naval base infrastructure requiring naval architecture expertise
- Involvement across the full ship lifecycle-from concept design to in-service support for naval platforms
What we're looking for:
- Degree-qualified (MEng) in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or Ship Science (essential)
- Experience with ANSYS Workbench FEA tools (desirable)
- Familiarity with Paramarine or similar naval architecture software (desirable)
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor (desirable)
