We’re currently hiring an HV Technician x2 to join a specialist electrical distribution team based in Portsmouth– maintaining vital infrastructure and supporting essential operations across the site.

You’ll be part of a hands-on team responsible for day-to-day maintenance of HV/LV systems, including fault repairs, remedial works, and substation checks. From supporting APs to carrying out maintenance on switchgear and transformers, your skills will help ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of site-wide electrical distribution.
£41,700 DOE, with access to on-call work and future progression opportunities.
What do you need?

City & Guilds Certificate in Electrical Installations
-
18th Edition BS7671
-
At least 5 years of experience in electrical distribution
-
Strong understanding of H&S best practices
-
Test & Inspection (BS2391) and HV Awareness (desirable)
-
First Aid trained (preferred)
-
Full right to work in the UK
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Maintaining HV switchgear, transformers, and frequency changers
-
Fault finding and remedial works
-
Substation checks (lighting, fire alarms, batteries)

Slinging/IPAF work (training provided)
-
Assisting with projects across the base
-
Supporting HV Field and Coordinating APs
-
Participation in on-call rota as required
