Occupational Health Technician
Location: Portsmouth (Regional travel with occasional nationwide travel)
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (typically between 8am and 6pm)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and professional Occupational Health Technician to join a leading and growing occupational health team based in Portsmouth. This is a varied and rewarding role that plays a vital part in supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees across a wide range of industries.

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and collaborative environment, with a comprehensive 3 week training and induction programme, followed by ongoing mentoring and professional development. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual seeking to expand their skills and build a meaningful career in occupational health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a range of health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing, and baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and urinalysis.
  • Accurately record all medical information and ensure it is shared appropriately with relevant clinical staff.
  • Maintain equipment to a high standard, ensuring all apparatus is clean, serviceable, and compliant.
  • Support and participate in health promotion activities.
  • Assist the wider occupational health team by gathering accurate data to support clinical decision-making.
  • Deliver biometric data through screening procedures to enable informed assessments by clinical professionals.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, self-motivated, and professional individual with a genuine interest in promoting workplace health and wellbeing. You will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional time management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • A strong understanding of GDPR and the importance of confidentiality.
