Copello are partnered with an Engineering Defence company based in the Portsmouth area who are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our team on a permanent basis.
As a Quality Inspector in the machine shop, your core responsibility will be to ensure that all precision-engineered components meet the highest quality standards for use in marine applications and international defence projects.
Key Responsibilities;
- Inspect components at various stages of the production process, including final inspection
- Raise non-conformance's and communicate with Quality Assurance department and management
- Perform dimensional inspections and maintain a safe working environment
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Collaborate with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure compliance with process work documents
- Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools
- Mechanical and electrical component inspection experience
- Basic mechanical inspection tools
- Dimensional inspection hand tools
- FDA GMP ISO 13485, ISO 9001 certification
- Minimum of 5 years mechanical inspection experience desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
- Safety awareness
- College standard education or mechanical apprenticeship or solid experience working in manufacturing industry
- Industry standard computer packages (Microsoft / MRP systems)
- Good knowledge and understanding of SAP
