Learning Support Assistant - (Hilsea)

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Hilsea. This rewarding role focuses on supporting pupils with specific academic, behavioural and emotional needs, helping them thrive in a positive and inclusive learning environment.



Position Details:

  • Location: Hilsea, Hampshire

  • Start Date: ASAP / September 2025

  • Contract Type: Full-time

  • Pay Rate: Minimum 13.96 per hour

  • Working Hours: 08:30 am - 15:30 pm



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with behavioural challenges, fostering a safe and encouraging atmosphere.

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote positive engagement.

  • Implement strategies to support individual learning and emotional development.

  • Help create a calm and structured learning environment that meets the needs of all pupils.



Requirements:

  • A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to supporting children with behavioural needs.

  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Enthusiasm for creating engaging learning experiences.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.



Eligibility Criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

  • Provide two professional child-related references.
