Location: Portsmouth
Hours: Part-time (flexible schedule available)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (depending on performance and school needs)
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
- Assist with classroom activities and learning plans
- Support pupils' emotional and social development
- Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
