Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a Configuration Manager on a 12 month contract to join our client's Defence & Space team in Portsmouth.
The client is offering up to £41.00 per hour Umbrella, the role is Inside of IR35. This is onsite requirement in Portsmouth.
Role Overview:
As a Configuration Manager, you will ensure adherence to company guidelines and industry best practices in Configuration Management (CM). You'll be the go-to expert for CM tools, processes, and training, working closely with project, product, and service teams.
Experience Level: Mid to Senior (Minimum 5 years in Configuration Management)
Are you an experienced Configuration Manager ready to take ownership of critical data and documentation processes in a high-impact environment? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our Configuration and Data Management (CADM) team, supporting major projects across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead CM activities: identification, control, planning, change management, status accounting, and audits.
- Maintain and distribute controlled data and documentation.
- Act as the focal point for one or more projects/products, supported by the CADM team.
- Manage and maintain the PLM/CMDB environment.
- Produce and manage Configuration and Data Management Plans and Change Management Procedures.
- Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and support external stakeholder interactions.
- Propose and implement process and tool improvements.
- Provide first-line support and training for PLM/CMDB users.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of full Configuration Management lifecycle.
- Proficiency with Product Data Management tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva).
- Digitally literate with MS Office and file/data management tools.
- Experience setting up CM processes on new projects.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- Good standard of education (Degree, HNC, Diploma, NVQ Level 5 or higher).
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CMII or equivalent certification.
- Experience in sensitive data environments.
- European language skills.
- Familiarity with APQP and CMII methodologies.
- Experience liaising with customers in a CM role.
Given the role's nature, the selected candidate will undergo BPSS clearance before commencing and will be required to hold an SC Clearance.
