Salary: 33,000 - 37,000 per annum
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday to Friday (Rotating Shifts) | 1 in 3-4 Saturdays

A well-established and growing transport and logistics company is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their dynamic operations team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of goods, managing daily transport schedules, and optimising route planning to maintain high service levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Manage driver workloads, vehicle allocations, and route efficiency across a fleet of vehicles.
- Monitor real-time transport performance, making adjustments to plans as required to resolve delays or disruptions.
- Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customer service personnel to maintain smooth logistics flow and excellent communication.
- Ensure full compliance with legal and safety requirements, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and transport documentation.
- Respond to delivery issues or last-minute changes, using strong problem-solving skills to mitigate impact.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around routing efficiency, cost control, and service delivery.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday with shift rotation:
- Early shift: 05:00 - 14:00
- Late shift: 10:00 - Finish (typically 18:00-19:00)
- Weekend working: 1 in every 3-4 Saturdays

Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in transport planning within a busy logistics or haulage environment - essential
- Working knowledge of multi-drop delivery operations and/or palletised goods distribution - preferred
- Familiarity with route optimisation software and transport management systems (TMS)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Must be located within reasonable commuting distance of Portsmouth
