Job Title: Transport Planner (Containers)

Salary: 32,000 - 38,000 per annum (plus on-call bonuses of up to 6,600 per year)

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Planner (Containers) to join our busy operations team in Portsmouth. This is a pivotal role within our transport department, ensuring the efficient planning and coordination of container movements across the South, with occasional involvement at London Gateway.
Key Responsibilities

* Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across the company fleet.
* Proactively forward-plan workloads to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction.

* Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.
* Manage delays and operational issues in a professional, solution-focused manner.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using transport management systems and digital tools.

* Occasionally required to assist with general haulage.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in container haulage planning.
* Strong knowledge of port operations and regional transport routes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient IT skills; experience using TOPS is a strong advantage.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
* Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota.
