Transport Planner - Portsmouth
Salary: 32,000 - 38,000 per year + on-call bonuses up to 6,600
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy operations team in Portsmouth. This is a key role ensuring the efficient planning and coordination of container movements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and allocate daily container haulage across the fleet.

  • Forward-plan workloads to maximise operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.

  • Manage delays and operational challenges in a proactive, solution-focused way.

  • Maintain accurate records using transport management systems and digital tools.

  • Occasionally assist with general haulage tasks as needed.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in container haulage or transport planning.

  • Strong understanding of port operations and regional transport routes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in IT; experience with transport management systems (e.g., TOPS) is an advantage.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make operational decisions.

  • Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.
