Transport Planner

Job Title: Transport Planner - Pallet Network Specialist
Location: Portsmouth, UK
Salary: Up to 37,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (Shifts: 05:00-14:00 & 10:00-19:00) + 1-3 Saturdays/month (05:30-10:00)

We're recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a well-established and highly respected haulage company based in Portsmouth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in multi-drop routing, pallet networks, and excellent local knowledge of the Portsmouth area, including postcodes and traffic flow.

• Planning and managing multi-drop deliveries for a fleet of vehicles

• Working within a pallet network environment, coordinating palletised freight

• Using local routing knowledge to optimise delivery schedules

• Liaising with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers

• Adjusting plans in real time to respond to delays or operational changes

• Ensuring all transport activities comply with current legislation and safety standards

• Experience as a Transport Planner in a haulage or logistics setting

• Knowledge of Portsmouth routes and postcodes is essential

• Hands-on experience with palletised freight and multi-drop deliveries

• Strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure

• Flexibility to work rotating shift patterns and occasional Saturdays

• Competitive salary up to 37,000 depending on experience

• 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• Permanent, full-time position

• Monday to Friday working with a great team, plus 1-3 Saturday mornings per month
