A reputable contractor in the power sector is seeking a commercially astute professional to join their team, working on a range of data centre and substation schemes valued between 30-70 million. This hybrid role is based out of their head office in Potters Bar, with a flexible 3/2 working split.

About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for managing the commercial performance of power sector projects, including mission-critical data centres and energy infrastructure. You'll support project teams through the full commercial lifecycle while working under NEC and JCT contracts. These projects demand precision and offer the chance to work at the forefront of the sector.

Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Oversee commercial delivery of high-value substation and data centre projects
  • Administer NEC and JCT contracts in line with company and client requirements
  • Lead on cost control, forecasting, valuations, and change management
  • Liaise with delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure contract compliance
  • Support junior surveyors and contribute to commercial strategy

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the power or data centre sector
  • Strong working knowledge of both NEC and JCT forms of contract
  • Proven track record managing multimillion-pound infrastructure or MEP-heavy projects
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
