  • Applicants should have a time-served Engineering Apprenticeship, strong fault-finding skills, and be computer literate, with an IPAF license preferred.

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to work on a permanent basis based on the Wirral and travelling to clients sites across the UK.

Salary is c£35-40,000 per annum plus overtime, holidays, pension etc

Main Accountabilities for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Assemble and test machinery at the UK workshop, ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.

  • Install, commission, and service mechanical and electrical systems on customer sites, providing on-site and remote technical support.

  • Diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and complete repairs efficiently using mechanical and electrical drawings.

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with customers, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.

  • Safely plan and install PVC pipework and other related systems, following all Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments.

  • Support colleagues, apprentices, and subcontractors to deliver projects effectively and uphold company standards.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, service reports, and maintenance records.

  • Provide occasional training or guidance to users or junior team members.

  • Be willing to travel within the UK and internationally for site installations and service work.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship with relevant post-qualification experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience installing and maintaining industrial equipment (pneumatic/hydraulic preferred).

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including containment, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • IPAF licence preferred.

  • Strong fault-finding, maintenance, and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, service reporting tools).

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
