We are seeking a reliable and experienced School Cook to join our busy school kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, child-friendly meals, ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation. Ideally, you will have prior experience working in a school or educational catering setting, with a good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold meals in accordance with set menus and dietary needs - Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet nutritional guidelines for school-aged children - Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and allergen control in the kitchen - Support with daily kitchen operations including food prep, service, cleaning, and washing up - Monitor food stock levels and assist with deliveries, storage, and stock rotation - Comply with all food safety and health & safety regulations, including HACCP procedures - Work effectively as part of a small team and communicate with school staff as needed - Support special events or theme days when required

Requirements:- Proven cooking experience, ideally in a school kitchen or similar catering environment - Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable) - Knowledge of allergen management, nutrition, and safe food preparation - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a busy kitchen - A warm and professional attitude, especially when around children and school staff - Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
