About the Role:
As a Glass Technician / Loading Shovel Operator, you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly. Working as part of an experienced team, you’ll be responsible for handling, loading, and transporting materials safely, supporting production processes, and maintaining excellent standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate loading shovels and other site vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Handle and process glass products and materials as part of the production cycle.
- Conduct basic maintenance and daily checks on equipment.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Maintain clean and organised work areas, promoting a safe and efficient workplace.
- Support plant operations, including shutdowns, maintenance, and general production duties.
- Identify and report faults, defects, or safety issues promptly.
- Work flexibly across various technician roles as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet site performance targets.
About You:
- Valid Loading Shovel Licence – essential.
- Experience in an industrial, recycling, or manufacturing environment – desirable.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Committed to safety and continuous improvement.
- NVQ in Waste Management or equivalent – desirable (training can be provided).
