SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary) - Wirral

Location: Wirral, Merseyside

Contract Type: Full-time

Salary: 100 - 120 a day.

Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We have several primary schools in the Wirral, currently seeking compassionate, proactive and skilled SEMH Teaching Assistants to join and provide essential support to pupils who require additional help to thrive in school.

About the Role:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored interventions and behaviour strategies
  • Helping to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Monitoring and recording progress, and contributing to reviews and support plans

About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs (within education, care or youth settings)
  • Calm, patient and resilient with a nurturing approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) - desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
