Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a legal secretary to join our highly regarded, well-established niche firm within our Court of Protection department.

Based in Hoylake on the Wirral, we represent clients in several areas, including North and mid Wales.

We are seeking a determined and enthusiastic candidate who is looking to work within mental health law and can provide cost-effective administration support to senior fee earners of the departments.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

路 Previous experience working in a firm of solicitors.

路 Previous legal experience in mental health law is desirable

路 Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and a desire to work in this area

路 Strong organisational and communication skills

路 Tact and resilience

路 Effective verbal and written communication skills

路 Competent in the use of Information Technology

Key tasks & responsibilities

路 Fast and accurate audio typing, accurate production of correspondence and documents using digital dictation.

路 Able to produce a high standard of work often to tight deadlines whilst maintain accuracy with excellent attention to detail.

路 File opening, closure and archiving.

路 Speaking to clients, experts, hospitals and courts on telephone and taking detailed yet concise messages and assisting when appropriate.

路 Managing fee earners diaries, updating key dates and appointments.

路 Accurate completion of time recording.

路 Maintaining careful checks that all deadlines are met.

路 Photocopying, scanning, printing, filing and other general admin tasks.

路 Ability to prioritise and cope with changing demands.
