An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QC Lead based in Birkenhead / Merseyside. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Technical Director.
Key Responsibilities of QC Team Leader
- Working closely with the Production Team to identify and rectify any quality issues
- Incoming Goods quality inspection
- Finished product quality control
- Chemical analysis of raw materials and product concentrates
- Ensure all quality related documentation, such as Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR’s), is completed accurately and to deadlines
- Reporting quality control issues to the Production and Quality Assurance
- Ensure segregation of non-conforming items, and where appropriate, recommend and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Competent in calibration, verification and monitoring of measuring devices within a laboratory setting.
- Managing the team’s holiday and sickness absence on Cascade
- Conducting PDR reviews
Education and Experience
- BSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a QC laboratory within the chemical, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry
- Advanced understanding of GLP and GMP standards
- Proficient in a range of analytical techniques
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations in a chemical environment
Skills & Experience:
- Ideally previous experience of managing and motivating a team
- Previous experience within a QC laboratory
- Ideally, have knowledge of testing packaging, componentry, raw materials and blend analysis, prior to use in production, as well as regular in-line sampling of finished product
- Familiar with producing certificates of analysis, as well as certificates of conformance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information clearly.
- Effective time management and progress communication.
- Ability to critically evaluate data and suggest solutions.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Team-oriented with a constructive, positive approach to collaboration
