We are seeking an enthusiastic Sports Graduate to join our team and inspire students at our independent special needs school on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sports-focused graduate to use their passion for physical activity to help students develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience while supporting their re engagement with education.
About the School:
This small, supportive provision caters to young people aged 11-14 who have experienced challenges in their educational journey. The school provides a nurturing environment where students can rebuild their confidence and self-esteem while developing coping strategies and emotional understanding through a multi-agency approach and tailored therapy.
With a capacity of 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school ensures a bespoke learning experience for each student. Pupils are taught in small groups of 3-5, with a high staff-to-student ratio.
In addition to academic learning, the school offers unique opportunities such as weekly horse riding, team-building activities, and vocational qualifications in its dedicated beauty and hairdressing facilities. The focus is on providing students with life skills alongside their emotional and educational development.
Your Role as a Sports Graduate:
- Lead and assist in delivering sports and physical activities to support students' physical and mental well-being.
- Foster teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude in students through structured and engaging sports sessions.
- Support students in developing social and communication skills through group activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
- Work collaboratively with staff to adapt activities to meet the individual needs of students.
- Assist with classroom learning and offer tailored 1:1 support when required.

- A graduate with a background in sports, physical education, or a related field.
- Passion for working with young people and promoting the benefits of physical activity.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage and inspire students with additional needs.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting activities to meet the unique requirements of each student.
