Profile – Shift Planner
Our client is a leading figurehead in the UK food sector, with an unparalleled pedigree dating back to the early 18th century. They are currently seeking a Shift Planner to join their team.
Job Role - Shift Planner
The Shift Planner shall ensure the successful execution of the site production plan by optimising workforce allocation, maintaining full operational coverage, and meeting headcount and budget targets.
Working cross-functionally, you will ensure departments are equipped with accurate labour information and proactively address potential staffing issues, such as initiating recruitment, to prevent disruptions to production. You will also monitor KPIs, identify and resolve challenges, and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement.
Duties – Shift Planner
• Completion of daily resource schedule, ensuring that the required staffing levels are achieved to fulfil the daily production plan requirements.
• Daily review of labour and re-allocation of staff as required to meet changes as they arise.
• Identify and fulfil resource requirements ahead of schedule by reviewing the upcoming production plans, holiday, absence, sickness and site activities.
• Participate in the development of an accurate medium to long term labour forecast to identify & co-ordinate seasonal labour requirements in line with seasonal and promotional activity.
• Confirm Overtime opportunities with collators as required to support the operational teams.
• Conduct regular scheduled resource meetings with respective business unit leads.
• Run and communicate weekly and monthly reports detailing labour and cost variances.
Experience/Qualifications – Shift Planner
• Previous labour scheduling experience
• Highly IT literate
Candidates who are currently a Workforce Planner, Production Scheduler, Manufacturing Scheduler, Operations Planner, Labour Scheduler, Staffing Coordinator, Resource Planner and MRP Coordinator could be suitable for this role.
