The School and the Role

Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of an inclusive Secondary school in Huyton, L36, who are seeking a proactive and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex needs. This full-time role will involve working closely with the child, providing personalised support to help them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

You will work in collaboration with the SENDCo and external agencies, supporting the child in line with their EHCP. You will also benefit from guidance, training, and excellent resources provided by the school.

This is an ongoing role with a start date of December 2025, and there is potential for the position to become permanent.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for a child with complex needs

  • Assist in removing barriers to learning and promoting confidence and independence

  • Work closely with the SENDCo and outside agencies to support curriculum access

  • Implement strategies for positive behaviour and social development

  • Support the child during lessons and activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with Primary-aged children, preferably in a SEND setting

  • A positive, creative, and patient approach to learning and behaviour management

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
