Join a growing and supportive team as a Payroll Administrator based in Prescot, Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives under pressure, and has good Excel skills. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll for a diverse contractor base, making a real difference to the day-to-day success of the business.

The Role:

As Payroll Administrator, you will support the Finance team with the delivery of accurate and efficient payroll services. From reconciling pay runs to liaising with HMRC and contractors, your contribution will ensure payroll is processed correctly and on time. You'll also have the chance to identify and recommend process improvements, helping the team operate at its best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls (1-300 employees)
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to contractors
  • Handle statutory deductions, AEOs, P45s, and HMRC notices
  • Prepare and submit BACS payments
  • Review and pay CIS contractor invoices
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from contractors, agencies, and external bodies
  • Release holiday pay as required
  • Provide payroll reports and updates
  • Contribute to ongoing payroll process improvements
  • Carry out general administrative tasks and support the wider finance function

About You:

  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets and data
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good knowledge of pensions, auto-enrolment, and payroll processes
  • Great communication skills - able to liaise professionally at all levels
  • Self-motivated and organised, with a proactive attitude
  • Analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, trustworthy and a team player
