Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) is seeking five experienced Qualified Social Workers to join the Adults and Older People's Combined Locality Team (CLT) as part of a dedicated backlog reduction project.

This short-term, focused project aims to reduce waiting times, progress referrals, and support timely case closures. Each worker will manage approximately three cases per week, concentrating on completing required tasks efficiently. As cases are closed, new cases will be allocated, ensuring a steady and structured workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory duties under the Care Act (2014) and related legislation

Progress and complete existing cases within the Adults and Older People's service

Conduct proportionate assessments and reviews to support case closure

Maintain accurate, timely case records using KMBC systems

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes for residents

Prioritise and manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines

About You

To be successful, you will need:

A Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW)

Social Work England registration

Experience in adults or older people's social care teams, ideally within a local authority setting

Strong assessment, communication, and organisational skills

The ability to work independently and manage a focused caseload effectively
