Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical works across a range of sectors, with a focus on education and healthcare.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and designs to ensure comprehensive and competitive pricing.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to source and negotiate quotations.
- Identify and recommend value engineering options to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to the tender process by producing well-structured, competitive estimates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing structures, and material costs.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the construction industry.
- Proven track record in estimating mechanical works for universities, schools, healthcare, and hospital projects is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with estimating software and related tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering is desirable.
