Accounts Assistant
Based: Preston - hybrid working 2-3 days office & 2pm Friday finish!
Salary - up to £30k + 27 days holiday + stats, study support (AAT then onto CIMA/ACCA), pension, private healthcare, opportunity to progress to Management Accountant in near future
We are exclusively working with a fantastic, rapidly expanding SME led by an entrepreneurial owner forecasting quadrupling revenues in the next 3 years. Working under a fantastic CFO we know very well, this is a great role offering wide-ranging exposure, study support & the opportunity to be Management Accountant in the next 2-3 years. Given they are an SME, you will be involved in everything from transactional finance up to month end and a number of projects to enhance your skills
Role:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, reconcile accounts, manage payment schedules and credit control.
- Expense Management: Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Bank Reconciliation: Daily reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries and support month-end processes.
- Support Audits: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Assist with monthly payroll and pensions
- Project work with the FD including implementation of new system, updating processes regularly
- General Administrative Tasks: Assist with filing, record-keeping, and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- AAT studying essential - Level 3-4 ideal with study support provided
- Experience in a growing SME desirable OR ability to work in a small team & changing environment
- Software Proficiency - good with systems, XERO experience beneficial not essential
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
