Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer (HVAC) interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Preston.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed HVAC system designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Review project requirements, regulatory standards, and performance criteria to inform designs.
- Perform load calculations, ductwork and pipe sizing, and airflow modelling.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure system integration.
- Support project delivery through design reviews, site inspections, and design modifications as required.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design verification packages.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HVAC focus) or equivalent.
- Proven experience designing HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier HAP, IES) and standards (CIBSE, BS, ASHRAE).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
