We are currently recruiting for a senior leadership position within a prestigious 4-star hotel with an outstanding restaurant. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-quality, award-winning kitchen, delivering exceptional cuisine and outstanding hospitality.

Head Chef

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, overseeing all culinary operations, menu development, and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both creativity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations.

  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, production, and presentation to maintain the highest standards.

  • Develop, plan, and implement seasonal menus in line with the restaurants quality and style.

  • Manage kitchen costs, budgets, and stock control, including purchasing and waste reduction.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across all kitchen areas.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, COSHH, and other health and safety regulations.

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to create a high-performing team.

  • Monitor and maintain portion control, consistency, and quality across all dishes.

  • Work closely with management to deliver exceptional guest experiences, including banqueting events.

  • Keep up to date with industry trends and implement innovative culinary ideas where appropriate.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent culinary skills with a creative approach to menu development.

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and food costs.

  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining standards and motivating the team.

  • Professional, reliable, and able to maintain a positive, proactive approach.

Benefits:

  • Holiday:30 days per year, including compensation for working bank holidays.

  • Group Bonus:Profit share after two years.

  • Health Insurance:Private healthcare for the individual after 12 months; family/dependants after three years.

  • Pension:3% of salary in years one and two, rising to 7% after six years.

  • Salary:£45,000 £50,000 per annum.
