About the Role:

As a Building Surveyor, you'll manage and deliver a wide range of building-related projects across the council and external clients. From design and specification to project management, you'll ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

You'll work closely with other construction professionals, providing technical leadership and expert advice. You'll support both Capital Programme delivery and external commissions, making a direct impact on services that benefit communities throughout Lancashire.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and specification of building refurbishments and improvements (e.g. roofing, windows, extensions, general interiors).
  • Manage the delivery of medium-scale building projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate construction activities and meet client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use project planning systems to monitor budgets, schedules, risks, and reporting requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject.
  • Experience in building design and delivery using AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of Building and Planning Regulations.
  • Excellent project planning, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Membership of a professional institute (e.g. RICS, CIOB) and working towards chartership.
  • Experience in the public sector or educational environments.
