We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism in an inclusive and nurturing mainstream primary school environment, close to Garstang.

This rewarding role involves building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil and offering consistent, tailored support throughout their school day. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, develop communication skills, and feel secure and valued in the classroom setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 support during classroom activities
  • Assisting with personal care, including nappy changing
  • Supporting the pupil's individual learning and emotional needs
  • Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals
  • Promoting independence and confidence in the pupil

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Has experience or a genuine interest in working with children with autism
  • Understands the importance of empathy, patience, and consistency
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Is reliable, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team
