Voluntary or personal experience with children is valued however enthusiasm and commitment matter most. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a dynamic classroom environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups, and help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning space.Duties/roles:
  • Assist the teacher in delivering lessons by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and helping with classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one support for students who need additional help.
  • Keep records of pupil progress and behaviour where needed.
  • Help manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Supervise the classroom if the teacher is briefly unavailable (e.g., stepping out)
  • Encourage good hygiene, punctuality, and positive behaviour.
  • Accompany students on school trips or off-site activities as required.
Person specification:
  • Whether you have a Level 2 or 3 qualification or are just starting out, we welcome you to apply.
  • Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges or
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or
  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or
  • Previous work experience in a Teaching assistant role.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills – evidenced by GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grades 9–4 (A–C)
Essential requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Provide references of previous employment.
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
