Site based service engineer
Circa £40,000 based on a 37.5 hour working week, Guaranteed 7.5 hours of overtime. 1.5 after the first 2 hours of overtime paid at 1.25x + 27 days holiday + 2x death in service + company pension + overalls.
My client is an award winning, global leading UK wholly owned subsidiary of high precision machine tools predominantly servicing the aerospace, power generation, oil gas, nuclear and automotive industry. They are widely recognised for having some of the most advanced machines on the market and are therefore, looking for engineers that are highly skilled in Siemens 840D to join their growing team. Currently they are looking to take on a further site-based service engineers to service a key client within the Samlesbury area. This is an excellent opportunity to work with extremely advanced technology within the machine tool industry whilst expanding your skillset within a global brand.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, retrofit, maintain, and repair precision machining systems (5-axis milling, grinding, turning machines) on-site at customers' facilities
- Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting on electrical systems-drives, motors, sensors, control cabinets, hydraulic/pneumatic interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, technologists, planners-and document technical findings and service reports.
- Provide customer training and technical support, guiding them through machine commissioning, operating procedures, and safety.
Requirements:
- Electrically biased engineers (multi-skilled is a preference).
- Experience in Siemens 840D is a must.
- Candidates must have experience with Profibus and Asi Bus.
- Experience navigating PG Units.
- Experience as a machine tool field service engineer, or maintenance engineer at a reputable company.
- Flexible for travel and overnight stays when required.
- Full clean driving license.
