Birchwell Associates is seeking a qualified Electrician for a field-based role in the Preston area with a salary ranging from £38,000 to £42,000, depending on experience.
This position is ideal for an electrician looking to advance their career in the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar PV and air source heat pump installations.
Candidates should have strong experience in general electrical work and be eager to learn about renewable systems, although prior experience in solar PV or ASHP is not essential.
The role involves electrical installation and maintenance across domestic and light commercial sites, as well as ventilation system installations.
Applicants must be fully qualified electricians to NICEIC standards and reside within 45 minutes of Preston, with a full UK driving license required.

You will be working on the tools across a range of general electrical and ventilation projects, with clear progression into solar PV and air source heat pump (ASHP) installations over time. Ideal for someone who is experienced but not yet highly specialised in renewables and looking to develop further without pushing salary expectations too high.

The Role

Electrical installation and maintenance work across domestic and light commercial sites
Ventilation system installations
Development into renewable systems, including solar PV and ASHP
Working both independently and as part of a growing field team

Candidate Profile

Fully qualified electrician (to NICEIC-recognised standards)
Strong experience in general electrical work
Some familiarity with solar PV and/or ASHP is beneficial but not essential
Eager to learn and progress within the renewable energy sector
Full UK driving licence
Residing within 45 minutes of Preston
