* Point 17 - 34,253 per annum (actual: 29,554.61)
* Point 19 - 36,564 per annum (actual: 31,548.61)

About the Role

A highly regarded sixth form college in Preston is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Work Placement Co-ordinator to join their team from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing meaningful and high-quality work experience opportunities for learners across the college.

You will act as an ambassador for the college, forging strong relationships with employers, supporting learners on placement, and ensuring all placements meet safeguarding and health & safety requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability, and a passion for supporting young people in gaining valuable workplace experience.



Key Responsibilities

Employer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with employers, businesses and placement providers.

  • Proactively engage with new and existing employers to expand placement opportunities.

  • Ensure employers and learners fully understand expectations, support arrangements and review processes.

Learner Support

  • Arrange and oversee tailored support for learners with SEND/LLDD to help them access suitable placements.

  • Track, monitor and record student progress throughout their work placements.

  • Liaise with course leaders to provide feedback on learner development, skills and behaviours.

Compliance, Safeguarding & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of all employers and placement activity.

  • Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure all workplace procedures-including risk assessments-are compliant.

  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, especially regarding students on placement.

  • Handle employer and placement enquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Provide accurate administrative support across all work placement functions.

Collaboration & College Contribution

  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to develop and refine placement processes.

  • Support managers with additional duties when required.

  • Contribute positively to the college's Equality & Diversity practices.
