Axon Moore is proud to be partnering with an established PE-backed SME to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. This opportunity is ideal for someone ready to take the next step into a number two position, bringing energy, initiative, and a proactive mindset, while benefiting from the mentorship of an experienced and supportive Finance Director.The business is undergoing a period of transformation, offering significant scope to drive value, improve processes, and implement efficiencies. The role is best suited to someone who enjoys overseeing the full finance function, including management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, monthly MI reporting, gross margin analysis, payroll, and leading a small finance team.Responsibilities include:
  • Monthly management accounts
  • Nominal Ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assisting with the annual budget preparation
  • Annual audit preparation, including tax and statutory reporting
  • Consolidation of the monthly payroll and submission to external payroll bureau for processing
  • Management of a team of 3
  • Working to drive forward ongoing transformation and improvement across the organisation.
The ideal candidate:
  • Manufacturing, engineering or construction experience would be of preference
  • A willingness to roll their sleeves up and undertake day to day finance activities
  • A genuine desire to actively contribute new ideas and initiatives across the business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact appropriately with individuals at every level of the business and successfully manage external relationships
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Results-focussed, a can-do attitude and the ability to constructively challenge ideas
