About the Role

Cedar Health and Wellbeing have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is ready for a challenge, can do attitude and highly motivated to help establish our Residential Service in Preston, which will support individuals with Autism, Learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will lead and model your team by providing positive examples of good practice and leadership,

Your role will be to implement bespoke support plan, Encourage and empower individual to make their own choices and take control of their own decisions that affect their lives.

  • Actively participate in and arrange the induction, training and development of all staff
  • Demand a high quality of support delivered to individuals through assessment of need, choices, and person-centered support that maximizes independence in a safe way
  • Understand the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2008) in relation to best interest making decisions.
  • To actively promote of the work the service to referrers partners, commissioners and stakeholders to allow business to grow, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Be knowledgeable around Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and be able to investigate/report any incidents
  • Experience in managing Residential services or similar environments
  • Experience of managing a staff team, setting objectives and ensuring development and goals are met
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with across services

What we are looking for

  • Must have experience of managing a Residential service
  • Knowledge and experience of leading a service to full compliance, experience of CQC inspection process
  • Have relevant qualifications - Level 5 Leadership and Management or equivalent
  • Be organised and able to prioritise to meet demands
  • Take part in the On-Call Rota
  • Must be a driver

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults/ Mental Capacity Act

To complete training on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and the Mental Capacity Act and be able to understand and implement these policies and procedures. Taking responsibility for reporting any Safeguarding concerns to your line manager and completing an alert.
