We are working with a welcoming, inclusive specialist school in Preston seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils who need encouragement, stability, and guidance to thrive in their learning and development.

Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience working with students who have additional needs is advantageous.
Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional, child related references covering the last two years.
