Job title: Security Architect
Location: Warton (On-site)
Rate: 770 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 12 months rolling
MOD DV Security clearance is required for this role.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced MOD DV Cleared Security Architect to support a major UK defence programme based in Warton. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, assuring, and governing security architecture across complex, mission-critical systems within a highly classified environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity, operating inside IR35, requiring regular on-site presence due to the sensitivity of the work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own end-to-end security architectures aligned with MOD and defence standards
- Provide security assurance across system designs, solutions, and integrations
- Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and security design reviews
- Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks including JSP 440, JSP 604, NIST, ISO 27001, and MOD security policies
- Work closely with enterprise architects, solution architects, and engineering teams
- Support accreditation and assurance activities, including engagement with MOD security stakeholders
- Produce and maintain security architecture documentation and artefacts
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Security Architect within MOD or defence environments
- Strong knowledge of secure system design, networks, cloud, and infrastructure security
- Experience working within highly regulated, classified environments
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong documentation and governance skills
