About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support business operations by ensuring equipment and facilities run smoothly and efficiently. You'll play a key part in maintaining high standards of production, reducing downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement across the site.
Working hours: 40 hours 7am to 15.30pm - 5 days in 7 shifts (Saturday and Wednesday off)
Type of contract: Permanent role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to the Shift Leader with task and project allocation.
- Deliver both proactive and reactive engineering maintenance across the business.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Identify and resolve engineering issues to ensure optimal production performance.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and faults.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, maintenance, and PPMs.
- Communicate technical and operational issues promptly to relevant departments.
- Perform general building maintenance across site facilities and associated properties.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering best practices.
- Promote continuous improvement, lean principles, and 5S culture.
- Manage workload and priorities as set by the Engineering Manager.
- Identify and report spare parts requirements and assist with stock control.
- Comply with all Health & Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures.
- Contribute to departmental projects and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Level 3+ qualification in Engineering and Maintenance.
- Level 3+ qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) with the ability to produce clear reports.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to develop skills and knowledge further.
