As a Design Engineer based in Preston, you’ll play a key role in developing bespoke, energy-efficient heating solutions that contribute to a greener future. Join a passionate team that values creativity, technical excellence, and making a meaningful impact.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide mechanical design input for operational and commercial teams, producing mechanical schematics and layouts tailored to customer specifications.
  • Create detailed schematic and assembly drawings using AutoCAD 2D/3D, along with structured Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support procurement.
  • Ensure all designs comply with customer URS (User Requirement Specifications) and relevant ISO manufacturing and operational standards.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to drive material and labour efficiency across the product range.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design or BOM-related issues, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, consultants, designers, and internal stakeholders to ensure design excellence and project success.

What You Will Bring:

  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering or Design (preferred), with a strong background in HVAC and M&E design.
  • Proven experience in designing complex, multi-functional heating systems, including mechanical and piping design.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software, ideally within the Building Services or Mechanical Engineering sectors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-driven and detail-focused, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
